The gt Dales Collection Tree Grilles are manufactured entirely in the UK from 100% recycled materials. Our tree protection is made from engineering grade 250 cast iron they are expected to last up to 100 years in normal use - even with minimal or no maintenance and painting. This is because 250 grade cast iron is not only incredibly durable, it also does not rust in the traditional sense - in fact over a 100 year timescale, even if left unpainted, Green-tech tree grilles will lose only a few microns to oxidisation. Green-tech can offer a standard range of tree protection as well as bespoke and one off products if required. gt Tree Grilles can be supplied with both irrigation and/or uplighter holes. We recommend that all grilles are fitted using a support frame and security clamps. The Mona Tree Irrigation System has been incorporated into a series of urban trees that form part o
a war memorial in Lancashire. The memorial honours the servicemen of World War II who passe
through the Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Burscough, known as HMS Ringtail
HMS Ringtail is an old World War Two airfield in Lancashire. It was a busy military base that wa
closed for flying in 1946 and kept under the military status of care and maintenance and used as a
engine holding and repair unit. Recently a new retail park has been built on land that was formerl
HMS Ringtail. A new Booths Supermarket has been built on the Park, designed to resemble a WW
aircraft hangar. In addition to this the existing Ringtail memorial has been moved into the ne
development, along with a life size bronze sculpture of a WW2 Navy Air Man
Cheshire based Hulton Landscapes secured the contract to construct the new memorial garden an
ensure the existing monument was removed and placed at its new location. Hard landscaping o
the site included the excavation and preparation works along with the creation of paved areas, th
installation of bespoke lighting, and the construction of disabled access ramp and steps with
curved balustrade and handrail
To complement the architecture and character of the surrounding landscape the developmen
included a detailed programme of planting of shrubs and established trees. The trees in the har
landscape were fitted with Mona Irrigation Rings that feed water direct to the trees rootball. Th
irrigation rings are part of the established and renowned Mona Irrigation System which focuses o
the feeding of trees and shrubs through the process of capillary action. The Mona system providing
natural pattern of feeding for the planting, it is more efficient than traditional methods of irrigatio
due to the on-demand nature of feeding, ensuring the plant or trees only take on water as an
when required
Tree anchoring systems, gtRootbarrier and gtResigrilles and tree guards were also installed into th
project, providing the trees in the hard landscape the best start in life and long-lasting protection

The Mona Plant System has been tried an
tested on many landscape project
throughout the UK and Europe. Th
versatility of the system means that it ca
be adapted for a variety of plantin
scenarios, installation is simple and i
requires no mechanical input, working onl
with the plants natural feeding pattern.
